What to know before scheduling your appointment

PLEASE NOTE: We offer online scheduling for surgeries only. You may also get your animal vaccinated/microchipped at time of surgery. Our Saturday wellness clinics are walk in only and there is no need to schedule an appointment. For information on our Saturday wellness clinics, please click here.

HEALTH CONCERNS

We are only able to perform surgeries on healthy animals. If you have any health / behavioral concerns about your pet, or if your pet has been sick within the last two monthsplease let us know in the NOTES section when making your online appointment. We will call you to follow up and ensure it is safe to go through with the surgery. If you do not let us know about any issues in advance, there is a chance your pet will be denied surgery on your appointment day.

Please also let us know about any of the following conditions:

  • If your animal is in heat
  • If your animal is obese
  • If your animal has an undescended testicle (Cryptorchid)

These conditions are considered high risk and you will be asked to sign a High Risk Waiver. They may also result in additional fees of $10-$50. Please see our pricing page here for more information and a complete list of additional charges.

Flat-faced breeds have an increased risk of breathing problems and known complications with anesthesia and recovery. These breeds include, but are not limited to: Boston Terriers, Bulldogs, Pugs, Pekingese, Shih Tzus, and Persian cats. The vet may decide to decline surgery on these breeds due to the increased risks. We are available to do pre-surgery screening on these animals to determine their eligibility for surgery. Please call the clinic if you want to schedule a pre-screen or have additional questions related to these breeds.

ON YOUR APPOINTMENT DAY

Our Address is: 910 SE Wilson A-1 Bend OR 97702 in the East Bend Plaza. Please note that BSNP will follow Bend-LaPine school district for closures. If schools are closed due to weather, BSNP will also be closed and will call you to reschedule your appointment.

DOGS

Drop-off time is at 7:30 AM and pick-up time is at 4:00 PM. It is a group check-in/out, so please allow 50-60 minutes for the process and after care instructions. If you are unable to make the scheduled drop-off or check-out times, please let us know immediately as we do charge a late fee of $10 for every 15 minutes past the scheduled times.

Please leave your dog in your car and come in to fill out paperwork. Once paperwork is completed, bring it to the counter and that is when you will be asked about any extra services needed, i.e. vaccinations, microchips, nail trim, etc. Pricing for these services can be found on our pricing page here. We will then call your name when it is ok to bring your dog inside – we allow only one dog at a time in the waiting area.

Pre-Surgery Feeding Instructions: For any dogs over 4 months, no food after 9:00PM the night before the surgery / morning of the surgery, but water is fine. For any dogs 4 months or younger, they can eat dinner before 9:00PM the night before the surgery and then have 1 tablespoon of wet food the morning of the surgery.
