About Bend spay + Neuter Program

BSNP is now part of Humane Society of Central Oregon

The mission of Bend Spay + Neuter is to provide affordable, preventative veterinary care for cats and dogs at risk of suffering in order to create a more humane community.

By providing free and affordable programs like the HOPE Pet Food Bank, Wellness Clinics, and assistance with spay/neuter, BSNP does everything we can to keep pets in their homes!

BendFilm Festival executive produced a short documentary about the The Bend Spay + Neuter Program’s life-transforming program exhibiting the unique power film has to unite the community and inspire action!

Did you know?

  • Female cats can get pregnant as early as 4 months
  • Brothers and sisters have no problem mating with each other
  • Large dogs can impregnate small dogs and it is very dangerous for the small female
  • Dog and cats are pregnant for just over 2 months before giving birth
  • Large breed dogs can have up to 16 puppies in one litter, which can cause severe complications for mom and puppies
  • 85% of dogs that are hit by cars are not neutered
  • 1/4 of all dogs in shelters are purebred!

  • Donate. Your money or your time. The animals will take whatever you can give.
  • Spay and neuter your pets and neighborhood strays and encourage your friends and family to do the same.
  • Adopt your new best friend from a rescue or shelter. There are thousands of pure breds, puppies, kittens, senior dogs and cats all needing homes right around the corner at our local shelters.
